Some people prefer Bourbon, some Vodka, some Wine. If you’re like me, you fancy them all.

Below are just a few of my favorites (in order of love & appreciation) as the Holiday season approaches, and one should stock up on (if you are lucky enough to get your hands on them)

1 1996 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande
pichon “If you’re looking to catch an elegant, text book Pauillac in the perfect place, pop a cork on this beauty if you have a bottle or two stashed away and be prepared for a beautiful nose of tobacco, forest floor, cassis, green olive tapenade, (but in a good way) and spicy cherries. Plush, polished and sensuous, the silky, fresh, sweet fruits and black cherry liqueur in the end notes feel great while they linger on your palate. Decanted 30 minutes before serving brought it right where it needed to be. Additional time in the glass did not add much.”
2 Renieri 2010 Riserva (Brunello di Montalcino)
reneiri “The aromas that come together are those of scorched earth, grilled porcini, roasted coffee bean and a bit of burnt rubber. The mature palate offers dried cherry, blackberry confiture, mocha, vanilla and a hint of game alongside tongue-drying tannins that clench the finish. Give this a few years to unfold then drink sooner rather than later.”
3 2012 IL BARONE Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon

I could literally go on and on but it would behoove you to start with these three exceptional tasting reds and allow your nose and taste to experience sheer ecstasy. Savor it.
