OptionsCity Software renews commitment to CBOE

11.13.2012

Chicago, November 13, 2012 – OptionsCity Software, a leading provider of end-to-end electronic trading solutions, today announced its recent certification on Chicago Board Options Exchange’s (CBOE) updated CMi 2.0 exchange protocol. OptionsCity Metro and Freeway clients are now experiencing improved trading performance as a result.

OptionsCity has optimized its quoting engine to take advantage of the lower latency benefits of CMi 2.0 and CBOE Streaming Markets (CSM). CMi 2.0 is a binary asynchronous message-based API that allows access to CBOE Command – the electronic trading system for CBOE, CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE), C2 Options Exchange (C2) and CBOE Stock Exchange (CBSX). Through CSM, OptionsCity offers traders direct access to uncompressed top-of-the-order-book details, including best bid or offer quotes and all trades for options or stocks, as well as data on complex strategies such as spreads, straddles, and buy-writes.

In response to CBOE’s recent announcement, OptionsCity has worked to ensure a seamless transition for its clients during CBOE’s transfer of its matching engine later this year from Chicago to the Equinix NY4 data center in Secaucus, N.J. – another measure to reduce latency and meet electronic trading demands.

“CBOE’s new CMi 2.0 interface provides lower latency and better performance for CBOE participants,” Gerald O’Connell, CBOE Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, said, “and we are pleased that OptionsCity supports this upgrade.”

“By integrating more robust data and speed enhancements by way of CBOE’s API, OptionsCity is committed to continuously seeking the best channels in which to optimize our clients’ trading experience,” remarked OptionsCity CEO, Hazem Dawani.

OptionCity’s end-to-end trading platform, Metro, is a fully-configurable electronic trading and market making platform that creates a distinctive edge by enabling traders to have full control over trading, safety, and risk management. OptionsCity Freeway, the firm’s breakthrough multi-asset automated trading platform, recently won the Chicago Innovation Awards for its fast and powerful algo development-to-deployment cycle.
