Rosman New Head of Cowen Investment Mgmt

Cowen Investment Management LLC, the global investment management business of Cowen Inc. (“Cowen”) (NASDAQ: COWN) with approximately $11 billion in assets under management, announced today that Elizabeth Flisser Rosman has been appointed Head of Investment Management.  Ms. Rosman joined Cowen in 2017 as Managing Director and Head of Strategy. In this leadership role, Ms. Rosman will be responsible for Cowen’s investment management division and further expanding its alternative investment platform.

Jeffrey M. Solomon, Cowen’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “We are thrilled that Elizabeth will lead our investment management division going forward as we focus on sectors where Cowen has strong domain expertise.  Elizabeth has 20 years of experience building alternative investment managers and since joining us last year, she has demonstrated the drive, market intelligence and creative thinking to drive the business forward.”

Fred Fraenkel, a Vice Chairman of Cowen, who had been running the investment management division on an interim basis, will return to advising Cowen’s senior management on strategy. Fraenkel joined Cowen in March 2016.

Tom Strauss, also a Vice Chairman of Cowen, will continue his firm wide responsibilities for managing and growing the firm’s most important relationships.  Strauss was a founding member of Ramius LLC and has maintained a senior leadership position since its integration into Cowen in 2009.

About Elizabeth Flisser Rosman:

Elizabeth Flisser Rosman is Head of Investment Management having been Head of Strategy at Cowen Investment Management since joining Cowen in September 2017. Previously, she was Managing Director and Partner at Reservoir Capital Group, a private investment company, where she led the firm’s efforts in identifying, seeding and incubating hedge fund managers for Reservoir Strategic Partners. She co-founded and served as CEO for Message Protocols LLC, a financial services technology company. Prior to that, she was President and Partner at Capital Z Asset Management. Ms. Rosman joined Capital Z in July 1999 and was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and structuring the firm’s hedge fund investments, and monitoring sponsored funds and strategic investments. Previously, she was at Goldman Sachs & Co in the Financial Institutions and Equity Capital Markets groups. Ms. Rosman holds a B.A. in American Studies from Barnard College.
