Hambro Perks Invests in Essentia Analytics

We are proud to announce that the Hambro Perks Growth Debt Fund has provided £3m of venture debt to Essentia Analytics, an award-winning B2B SaaS provider of behavioural data analytics and consulting for professional investors. Essentia Analytics was established in 2013 by Clare Flynn-Levy, an ex-fund manager, with its headquarters in London and a further office in New York. Essentia Analytics combines next-generation proprietary data analytics technology with human coaching to help active fund managers improve their investment decision-making. This technology helps fund managers play to their strengths and minimise weaknesses, similar to how professional athletes use continuous feedback loops to achieve excellence.

Essentia Analytics analyses over $250bn of assets, capturing rich data about client behaviour and investment processes, turning trade, market and decision data into actionable personal insights. By identifying patterns that are consistently adding or destroying value, Essentia Analytics helps fund managers play to their strengths and minimise their weaknesses using a combination of proprietary technology and human coaching sessions.

Essentia Analytics’ cutting edge approach to adding value to their clients’ day-to-day workflow continues to make a significant impact in the financial industry. The ability to improve alpha is an area that is in high demand by fund managers, and Essentia Analytics has a proven track record of success. The company’s expertise in investment management, technology and behavioural science sets it apart from other players in the market, and its ability to capture richer data and turn it into actionable insights is highly valued.

The company’s inspirational vision to continuously innovate and challenge the status quo, combined with its wealth of industry experience, has helped it attract a strong and diverse investor base. In addition to Hambro Perks, Essentia Analytics has also received investment from established angel investors, Calculus Capital, and Northern Trust.

Ross Goodwin, Partner in Hambro Perks Venture Debt team commented: “We are delighted to provide venture debt to Essentia Analytics and join forces with its exceptional management team. Essentia’s track record of deliveering market-leading proprietary software solutions for investment professionals, and its commitment to innovation aligns perfectly with Hambro Perks’ values. We look forward to partnering with Essentia and supporting its growth aspirations in the years to come.”

Hambro Perks’ decision to provide £3m of venture debt to Essentia Analytics is a testament to the company’s potential to continue to make a significant impact in the financial industry. The team’s expertise in its field, combined with their proven track record, sets it apart from other players in the market. We are excited to partner with this management team and its other investors, and we look forward to seeing the continued success of Essentia Analytics in the future. The transaction was led by Ross Goodwin and Ylan Lamour and is the third investment from the Hambro Perks Growth Debt Fund since launch in late 2022.
