Clearstream, iCapital Extend Partnership in Private Markets

Clearstream, the leading global post-trading services provider, is extending its partnership with iCapital, the global fintech platform, driving the world’s alternative investment marketplace for the wealth management industry.  The extended collaboration will significantly increase efficiencies and eliminate the operational challenges of investing in private markets.

Through this alliance, the broad menu of private market investment opportunities from the world’s leading asset managers, available on iCapital Marketplace, will also be accessible via Clearstream Fund Centre and Clearstream Vestima platforms. The partnership is an expansion of the current relationship where €10 billion of iCapital funds are already invested through Clearstream and will make the offering available to the Clearstream Fund Services ecosystem consisting of over 450 distributors, including major wealth managers and private banks, across more than 55 domestic markets worldwide, with customers in over 100 countries.

As a central component of this partnership, Clearstream and iCapital will deepen the integration of their technology to further streamline operational and administrative processes for investing in private markets, resulting in significant efficiency increases to meet the growing private wealth channel’s appetite for private market investments.

In addition to increasing convenience and efficiency when investing in private market funds, the technology partnership also leverages Clearstream Fund Centre’s digital ecosystem and provides seamless connectivity between iCapital Marketplace and Clearstream. Users of iCapital Marketplace will be able to effortlessly integrate into Clearstream custody & distribution services.

Philippe Seyll, Head of Clearstream Fund Services, stated: “By strengthening our partnership with iCapital, we are reinforcing our value proposition to asset managers and distributors, providing them with a dedicated platform to centralise and facilitate safe access across all asset classes – including private market assets. With our ecosystem of scalable, secure, and integrated distribution and processing solutions, we are committed to supporting both ends of the distribution chain with data and services.”

Marco Bizzozero, Head of International at iCapital, highlighted the significance of the extended partnership, stating: “Wealth creation is increasingly occurring beyond the boundaries of public market opportunities commonly available to most investors. We are proud to strengthen our partnership with Clearstream, which will contribute to our mission to power the world’s alternative investment marketplace and enable Wealth Managers to access the growth and diversification opportunities that private markets can offer as alternative investments increasingly become a core component of a balanced portfolio.”
