José-Oriol Bosch, CEO, Grupo Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV), will step down after nearly a decade in the role. Jorge Alegría is set to succeed him, though the exact date of the transition has not been announced. Bosch has served as CEO since January 2015 and has previously held positions at Inverlat Casa de Bolsa, Citibank Mexico, and J.P. Morgan.

“Alegría will soon assume his duties and José Oriol Bosch will remain with the institution, collaborating with Alegría for a transitional period to ensure an orderly handover,” stated the BMV in a press release.

The Nomination Committee of Grupo BMV made the decision as Bosch completes his “natural cycle” with the company. Marcos Martínez Gavica, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Grupo BMV, praised Bosch’s significant contributions over nearly a decade, especially during complex and challenging times.

Jorge Alegría brings extensive experience in the financial sector, having held leadership roles at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group, the Mexican Derivatives Exchange (MexDer), and as Deputy General Manager of BMV, overseeing Market Operations and Data Services.
