Fidelity Introduces Digital-First Stock Transfer Agent

Fidelity Investments® announced Fidelity Stock Transfer SM, a digital-first stock transfer agent solution for publicly traded companies. Developed in Fidelity Investments’ innovation incubator, Fidelity Labs, Fidelity Stock Transfer was built from the ground up to deliver a better transfer agent experience for U.S.-listed companies and their shareholders.

Fidelity Stock Transfer allows users to easily move shares, run reports, and see everything all in one place, giving clients a total portfolio view across all their holdings, from brokerage to stock compensation to retirement savings.

“Existing technology for transfer agents hasn’t changed much over the past decades. We see a significant unmet need in the market, especially for companies that are constantly pushing the envelope for what is possible in their industries and don’t accept the status quo,” said Schuyler Laird, head of Fidelity Stock Transfer. “We’ve built a brand-new end to end transfer agent platform for those companies that is fast, intuitive, and reliable.”

Fidelity Stock Transfer was built for publicly traded companies that are looking for a more modern transfer agent solution, particularly as they go public. Transfer agents provide services for publicly listed companies like maintaining records of ownership, protecting against over issuance of securities, and providing corporate communications to shareholders.

Fidelity Stock Transfer is the first new transfer agent platform serving S&P 500 or Nasdaq 100 companies developed in the past 30 years and the first transfer agent integrated into a major brokerage, stock compensation, and retirement benefits platform.

Fidelity Stock Transfer is the latest new business from Fidelity Labs, Fidelity Investments’ in-house software business incubator that explores concepts for the future, allowing Fidelity to enter new markets and better serve its customers. For more information on Fidelity Stock Transfer, see here.
