Lou Ducasse, Head of EMEA Clients Relations at Tradeweb, won a Rising Star Award at Markets Media’s 2025 European Women in Finance Awards. We caught up with Lou to learn more.”
Lou, congratulations on your Rising Star award. What does this recognition mean to you at this stage of your career?
It’s an incredible honour to be recognised so early in my career and I’m very grateful to have been nominated by Tradeweb. For me, it’s a reflection that hard work and dedication really do pay off, and that means a lot.
What makes it even more meaningful is the opportunity to celebrate alongside so many inspiring women across the industry, all at different stages of their careers. Awards like this shine a light on the importance of visibility, mentorship and representation, which are so vital for women in finance.
What choices or challenges have most shaped your professional journey so far?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to stay open – to new experiences, to challenges, and to opportunities that might not fit an exact plan. Early in my career, I made a point of saying yes to as many projects as possible, which gave me invaluable exposure to different teams and business areas.
That willingness to step forward, combined with curiosity and a focus on adding value, has been pivotal. It’s helped me develop a deep understanding of how Tradeweb operates, from product to client service, and to grow into a leadership role that bridges multiple functions and regions.
What advice would you give to other young women seeking to advance in finance and trading?
Take every opportunity you can – even if it feels outside your comfort zone – and make the most of it. Ask questions, get involved and don’t be afraid to show interest in areas that stretch your knowledge.
Finance is an industry that thrives on relationships, so building those connections early is key. Confidence grows from knowledge, and knowledge comes from curiosity. Learn as much as you can, as early as you can, and don’t underestimate the power of mentorship and teamwork along the way.
Who have been your key mentors or supporters along the way?
I’ve been lucky to have had several mentors, both male and female, who’ve shaped how I work and how I lead. My managers have been incredible sources of support and encouragement, and I’ve learned so much from their guidance and example.
At Tradeweb, collaboration and mentorship are part of the culture. I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders from across the business who’ve helped me see the bigger picture and pushed me to take on more responsibility. I’m also really proud of the team I lead today – they’re an ongoing source of motivation and inspiration
What qualities do you think distinguish your approach to client relations at Tradeweb?
For me, it all comes down to care and consistency. We often describe our approach to clients as a “white glove” service – providing the level of service that I would want to receive myself. It’s about combining diligence, attention to detail and genuine consideration for the client’s experience.
Our clients operate in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, so the ability to listen carefully, respond quickly and anticipate their needs makes all the difference. My goal is always to make our clients feel valued and supported, and to ensure every interaction reflects the professionalism and partnership that Tradeweb stands for.
