Maria Esther Calderon

Maria E. Calderon-Salcedo joined MarketAxess in 2009 and is currently the Co-Head of EM Americas & LATAM Sales for MarketAxess. In this leadership role, she is responsible for setting up the strategy, managing client relationships and trading distribution in Emerging Markets across the Americas which is a fast-growing region for the firm. Prior to this role Maria lead the Global Hedge Fund & ETF sales initiative which has turned into one of the fastest growth client segments at MarketAxess.  Prior to MarketAxess, Maria was a Credit Default & Interest Rate Swap Product Specialist at Tradeweb. She grew up in Mexico City and holds a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. She also holds a Design Thinking Certification from Stanford University & Derivatives Modeling Certification from Columbia University. Maria received a Doctorate Honoris Causa from the International University of Human Development & Leadership in September 2024. This award is a recognition of her career journey and dedication to making positive impact through charitable initiatives.
