Morgan Stanley Applies for Charter to Custody Crypto

Morgan Stanley has filed with the OCC to launch Morgan Stanley Digital Trust.

“If approved, this would allow them to:

• Custody digital assets under federal oversight

• Facilitate buy, sell, swap & transfer of crypto

• Offer staking services on a fiduciary basis

This isn’t a pilot. It’s a regulated bank structure. The application has been received by the OCC and is now under review, with a public comment period already open.

Translation: Institutional crypto infrastructure is being built inside the U.S. banking system.

Wall Street isn’t watching crypto anymore. It’s becoming the bank.”
