SEI announced the launch of its first ETFs in Europe, a suite of seven actively managed global quantitative equity strategies, domiciled in Dublin and listed on Deutsche Börse.
Developed by SEI’s Quantitative Investment Management (QiM) team, which manages more than $35 billion across equity strategies, the new funds bring QiM’s proven institutional active management to European investors through a transparent, liquid, and cost-effective ETF structure. SEI’s U.S. QiM related active ETF range has attracted approximately $7 billion in AUM, reflecting growing demand for active, research-driven investment strategies.
The launch builds on an established investment platform spanning institutional mandates, mutual funds, and ETFs. Currently managed by QiM, the range includes several U.S. ETF strategies that have earned 5-star Morningstar ratings and a broader quantitative equity platform with a long-term institutional track record and top decile peer-ranking.
The first funds in the series allocate to value, momentum, and quality factors, with the following ETFs immediately available:
- QiM Global Value Alpha UCITS ETF GBP Accumulating (BRGN)
- QiM Global Value Alpha UCITS ETF Euro Accumulating (BRGE)
- QiM Global Momentum Alpha UCITS ETF Accumulating (TRND)
- QiM Global Momentum Alpha UCITS ETF Euro Accumulating (TRNE)
- QiM Global Quality Alpha UCITS ETF GBP Accumulating (QLYT)
- QiM Global Quality Alpha UCITS ETF Euro Accumulating (QLYE)
The full suite will also include allocations to income and dynamic factors as well as exposure to equities for emerging markets and smaller companies.
Each strategy targets a primary source of return, but the portfolios are actively managed rather than tracking mechanical index exposures. QiM combines proprietary research signals with active portfolio manager oversight and integrated risk controls—an approach designed to capture intended premia while managing the unintended risks and biases that can arise in passive, rigid rules-based products.
The investment process is grounded in decades of quantitative research and real-world portfolio management experience. Proprietary models identify investment opportunities, while portfolio managers oversee implementation, challenge model outputs where appropriate, and evaluate evolving market conditions. Risk management is integrated throughout portfolio construction, including position sizing, diversification, liquidity, and exposure controls.
Commenting on the launch, Eugene Barbaneagra, Global Head of QiM and Lead Portfolio Manager at SEI, said:
“These ETFs give European investors access to the same investment capabilities we’ve built over decades of managing institutional assets. They reflect our approach to active management: proprietary research, hands-on portfolio manager oversight, and rigorous risk control, systematically applied and delivered through an ETF structure.”
Ian Love, SEI’s Head of Asset Management for UK, EMEA, and Asia, added:
“Investors are increasingly seeking active ETF solutions that combine transparency, liquidity, and institutional-quality investment expertise. Expanding SEI’s ETF offering in Europe reflects our commitment to bringing differentiated, actively managed strategies to investors in a structure that is aligned with how the market is evolving.”
As of July 22, 2026, SEI’s QiM team manages more than $35 billion in assets.
