DTCC Wins ESMA Authorisation for Reporting Service

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has received authorisation from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to operate an Approved Reporting Mechanism (ARM) under the EU Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID). The single, resilient transaction reporting platform is due to go live in early November 2026.

DTCC’s EU-MiFID ARM is designed to replace fragmented legacy solutions and give firms a single route for efficient transaction reporting. The service will support high-volume back-reporting submissions and error correction, and will provide enhanced data quality tools to help firms strengthen oversight and maintain confidence in their regulatory reporting.

Michele Hillery, Managing Director and Head of Repository & Derivatives Services at DTCC, said the authorisation was an important step in the expansion of the company’s trade and transaction reporting capabilities.

“ESMA’s authorisation of DTCC’s EU-MiFID ARM marks an important milestone in the continued expansion of our trade and transaction reporting capabilities,” she said. “This approval reflects DTCC’s continued investment in innovative, technology-led reporting solutions, as well as our commitment to helping the industry reduce complexity, strengthen resilience and lower the overall cost of reporting.”

She added that evolving regulatory requirements meant firms needed adaptable infrastructure. “As regulatory requirements continue to evolve, firms need infrastructure that can adapt with them and support ongoing compliance, while delivering the scale, flexibility and reliability required in today’s reporting environment,” Hillery said.
