German HFT Act: New Regulatory Requirements for Algorithmic and High Frequency Trading

The Germany parliament voted to adopt the High Frequency Trading Act towards the end of February 2014. The High Frequency Trading Act requires that a license, issued by the German regulator (BaFin), be held by high frequency traders (HFT), regardless of their physical location, if they trade the German markets.
