Style: Global Markets Summit 2011

This past Wednesday’s Global Markets Summit was awash in style, with New York’s Trump SoHo setting the scene for attendees. The hotel’s zen, modernist decor, clean architectural lines, and profusion of light served as a sleek backdrop for looks that ranged from classic tailoring, to relaxed combinations, to individualistic use of (a little) color.

Cut: Subtle on interest, strong on impression.

Suits dominated the conference, with cuts varying from relaxed to made-to-measure and fitted. Slim cuts have become an increasingly popular (and highly flattering) option, and trousers with a more Italian fit (read: more tapered shape, bottoms hit slightly below the ankle) were also spotted.
Color & Extras: A dash of visual interest.
GMS 2011  Several attendees chose the more individualistic route, adding a touch of bold color, an eye-catching detail (no ties for some gentlemen, a necklace, scarf, or a sheer neckline for women), or even a healthier dose of color and pattern combinations for some.
