NN IP Appoints Head of Automated Intelligence Investing

NN Investment Partners (NN IP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rani Piputri as Head of Automated Intelligence Investing, as of 1 September 2018. The appointment of Piputri underlines NN IP’s commitment to continuously invest in the next generation of research which utilizes digital technology, new data sources and further innovation of our investment approach.

With over 18 years of experience as a research and investment professional, Piputri joins NN IP from Aspect Capital, a London-based CTA and quantitative multi-asset solutions provider, where she was Principal Equity Strategies. Prior to this, she held the roles of Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager at Saemor Capital. In addition, she was Board member of the CFA society Netherlands for four years.

Piputri has extensive experience in portfolio management, risk management, systematic investment styles, quantitative analysis, data and technology infrastructure. She holds a MSc. Degree in Financial Econometrics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and is a CFA charter holder.

In her new role based in The Hague, Piputri will focus on extracting behavioural premia from financial markets, by implementing data-driven strategies largely based on factor research and artificial intelligence techniques. The Automated Intelligence Investing team covers factor investing across asset classes, while also exploring alternative data and further application of Artificial Intelligence techniques in equity markets. In this capacity, Piputri will be working alongside 16 investment professionals, data scientists and next-generation researchers, managing EUR 11bn in Assets under Management, and reporting into the Chief Investment Officer of NN IP.
