BNP Paribas AM Invests In Quant Manager

04.15.2019

Napoleon Capital is pleased to announce its fundraising with BNP Paribas Asset Management (“BNPP AM”).

This financing was realised through BNP Paribas Capital Partners, BNPP AM’s multi-management specialist, which joins a group of investors including École Polytechnique (via the X-Création incubator) and other financial professionals, to accelerate Napoleon Capital’s development.

This new stage of fundraising aims to position Napoleon Capital as a new player in algorithmic investment solutions. Its investment consulting offer builds on the latest research using artificial intelligence, as well as a proprietary microservices IT infrastructure.

By partnering with Napoleon Capital, BNPP AM strengthens its expertise in quantitative management. This funding is the second collaboration between the two companies, which are already partners in a dedicated fund worth several dozen million Euros. Their complementary expertise will enable Napoleon Capital to meet professional investors’ demand for multi-asset, liquid, uncorrelated and efficient quantitative strategies and will allow BNPP AM to expand its network of innovative partners.

Denis Panel, Head of BNPP AM’s Multi-Asset, Quantitative and Solutions Management Division (MAQS), said: “Funding Napoleon Capital, a new leader in algorithmic strategies, is part of our ‘quantamental’ approach that combines the best quantitative and fundamental management techniques. This collaboration will help develop and provide innovative investment solutions to our clients.”

Stéphane Ifrah, CEO of Napoleon Capital, commented, “This partnership is a major milestone in our development. Our expertise is focused on generating performance by building optimised solutions, and BNPP AM will enable us to make them investable for our clients, while securing the operational scope.”
