CurveGlobal Launches One Month Sonia Futures

05.15.2019

CurveGlobal to expand range of SONIA interest rate futures with launch of CurveGlobal® One month SONIA Futures on 29 July

  • One month SONIA Futures designed to complement existing CurveGlobal® Three month SONIA Futures
  • Launching Serial maturities on the CurveGlobal® Three month SONIA Future
  • New Inter-Commodity Spread (ICS) will link pricing of One month and Three month SONIA Futures

The CurveGlobal® One month SONIA Future will have a notional of £1,500,000 and a minimum tick value of £6.25. The maturity cycle will follow the third Wednesday of the month.

Developed in response to client demand, the new monthly contract has been designed to complement both the existing CurveGlobal® Three month SONIA Futures and new Serial contracts to join the quarterly contract cycle. Thanks to the symmetry between the One month and Three month Futures, CurveGlobal is also launching an innovative ICS that will link the pricing of the two contracts.

The One month SONIA Future will offer a shorter term perspective on the SONIA curve and will deliver significant benefits to market participants – including opportunities for effectively managing exposure for interest rate and curve shape moves, Bank of England meetings, FX forwards and repo rates.

The CurveGlobal® One month SONIA Futures, ICS between the One month and Three month SONIA Futures, and new Serial contracts will be available to trade from 29 July 2019.
