Clearstream Brings Digital Private Market Fund Processing
  • Improves transparency with detailed reporting, offering anonymized, granular views into investor portfolios
  • Consolidates multiple investor portfolios under a single Clearstream account
  • Supports complex product features, such as capital call execution and lock up tracking at investor level

Clearstream, Deutsche Börse Group’s post-trade services provider, is launching a digital solution to transform private market fund processing. Leveraging digital capabilities through its DLT-based platform FundsDLT and integrated with Clearstream’s Vestima fund platform, the solution – currently being introduced with selected clients prior to a full-scale rollout – streamlines traditionally manual processes, enhancing efficiency and transparency for fund providers and distributors.

The new Vestima digital solution addresses the growing complexity of private market fund distribution by automating key processes. It provides detailed, anonymized insights into investor portfolios, enabling improved operational transparency throughout the distribution chain. Multiple investor portfolios can be consolidated under a single Clearstream account, increasing operational efficiency, with the easy tracking of lots and lockup periods. The ability to digitally aggregate and disaggregate investor portfolios simplifies order routing, capital call management, and asset servicing, while integration with back-end systems automates the exchange of information.

For asset managers, the solution simplifies management of fund issuance and regulatory controls. It offers precise tracking and reporting of investments and transactions, maintaining clear and anonymous records down to the end investor portfolio level. The enhanced automation enables fund managers and general partners to streamline distribution towards distributors and wealth managers.

Philippe Seyll, CEO of Clearstream Fund Services, commented: “Our digital solution sets new standards for transparency and efficiency in private market fund distribution. By extending Clearstream’s B2B ecosystem to be more like a B2B2C model, we ensure broader accessibility and operational efficiency. We are committed to supporting asset managers in their growth and connecting them with a broad network of wealth management professionals.”

Olivier Portenseigne, Head of Digital for Clearstream Fund Services and CEO of FundsDLT, added: “This solution is a game-changer for fund providers and distributors. Designed to be inclusive and comprehensive, it empowers them with advanced capabilities for tracking and reporting investments and transactions, unlocking new distribution opportunities in wealth management while reducing costs and complexity.”
