Fidessa  – London –  Fidessa group plc (LSE: FDSA) today announced that its legal team has been named In-house Team of the Year for the Technology Sector in the Legal 500 UK 2017 awards. Recognising the best in-house and private practices across a range of industry sectors, the awards are based on comprehensive research into the UK legal market over a 12-month period, including feedback from more than 70,000 interviews.

Led by Jonathan Waltho, Group General Counsel at Fidessa, the team was recognised for the critical role it plays in maintaining the market position that Fidessa currently enjoys in the fintech sector. As well as managing the firm’s requirements in terms of the ongoing regulatory agenda and supporting new product launches, the team has made significant strides on cyber security and data privacy, essential in supporting not only Fidessa’s own business but that of its customers too.

“We are delighted to be recognised with this award,” Waltho commented. “At Fidessa we pride ourselves on achieving the very highest standards and this is a great accolade, recognising as it does the team’s hard work and skill. It’s particularly gratifying to be singled out as winners by our peers in the legal industry and we look forward to continuing these award-winning efforts.”

Fidessa supports 1,000 clients and 24,000 users around the world. The Fidessa network provides connectivity to 5,300 buy-sides and 730 brokers across 215 markets globally. Each month, the network carries trade flow with a value of more than US$1.8 trillion.
