Fitch Group Appoints Ranjit Tinaikar as President of Fitch Information Services

Fitch Ratings -New York- Fitch Group today announced the appointment of Ranjit Tinaikar as President of Fitch Information Services, effective December 1, 2016.

Dr. Tinaikar will oversee all of Fitch Information Services businesses including: Fitch Solutions and BMI Research. Based in Fitch’s New York office, he will join the Fitch Group management team and report to Fitch Group President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Taylor.

“Ranjit has a breadth of experience ranging from big-picture strategy and innovation to inspiring collaboration and driving performance, and we are very excited to have him join us to lead our next wave of growth and innovation,” said Mr. Taylor. “Information services is an important part of our plans to grow and diversify Fitch Group, and Ranjit’s extensive experience will be a great asset to Fitch.”

Dr. Tinaikar brings to Fitch the global experience of working with Financial Services firms in Asia, Europe and North America. He joins Fitch from Thomson Reuters, where since 2012 he was Managing Director and Global Head of Asset Management, Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Research. He led the transformation of that business by revamping its product delivery strategy to focus intensely on the needs of the customer.

Prior to Thomson Reuters, Dr. Tinaikar spent 14 years at McKinsey & Company where he was a Partner driving business performance improvement for financial services companies around the world.

Previously he was a consultant with Deloitte. He began his career in 1991 with Citicorp information technology in Mumbai, and later taught management information systems at Carnegie Mellon. Dr. Tinaikar earned his Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master’s degree in Industrial Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Bombay.
