ICI.com — Washington, DC —Total estimated inflows¹ to long-term mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) were $1.04 billion for the week ended June 1, 2016, the Investment Company Institute reported today. Estimated mutual funds outflows were $5.10 billion while estimated net issuance for ETFs was $6.13 billion.Reports of long-term flow estimates and ETF net issuance are available on the ICI website.

Equity funds² had estimated outflows of $581 million for the week, compared to estimated outflows of $3.11 billion in the previous week. Domestic equity funds had estimated outflows of $842 million, and world equity funds had estimated inflows of $260 million.

Hybrid funds²—which can invest in stocks and fixed-income securities—had estimated outflows of $612 million for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $221 million in the previous week.

Bond funds² had estimated inflows of $2.25 billion for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $4.06 billion during the previous week. Taxable bond funds saw estimated inflows of $1.12 billion, and municipal bond funds had estimated inflows of $1.14 billion.

Commodity funds²—which are ETFs (both registered and not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940) that invest primarily in commodities, currencies, and futures—had estimated outflows of $23 million for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $649 million in the previous week.
