TradeTech Europe Postponed, Innovate Finance Cancelled

03.13.2020

It is with great regret that Innovate Finance has decided to cancel IFGS, scheduled to take place on April 20-21 at Guildhall, London, due to ongoing industry concerns around the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

As you will be aware, many companies have now implemented non-essential travel and event restrictions, making it difficult for many of our speakers, panellists and delegates to attend IFGS.

We have not taken this decision lightly and have been in constant discussions with our key partners, who are together hosting UK FinTech Week. IFGS is the flagship event of that week, convening the global FinTech industry in the UK to share ideas, discuss new trends, find new investors and foster existing relationships. It is hard to express our disappointment that IFGS will no longer take place.

We are however delighted to say that we will still take the opportunity to profile the ongoing strength of UK FinTech during the week of April 20-24. This will become digital content, virtual events, smaller roundtables and partner events. We will be releasing a schedule of activity over the coming days and weeks, so please do keep an eye out on the UK FinTech Week website for updates and information on how to register. In turn, please get in touch if you would like to submit digital content.

As the industry body for UK FinTech, we will of course continue to support our members and the ecosystem throughout the year. We will continue to develop and deliver our wider programme of activities, strengthening our focus on important themes like access to capital, talent & skills, financial inclusion & education, and partnerships.

Innovate Finance will be in touch regarding upcoming events we have planned over the course of the year. In the meantime, please make sure you mark next year’s IFGS dates in your diary: Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th April, 2021 at the Guildhall, London, when we look forward to kicking off UK FinTech Week 2021.

TradeTech Europe

We at TradeTech Europe 2020 have been working around the clock over recent weeks to ensure we are putting your best interests above all others, especially in light of the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

After careful consideration, we are postponing TradeTech Europe 2020. The health, safety and well-being of our attendees, partners and employees is paramount, and this is the only action that is within our power in order to make sure you remain healthy and safe during these uncertain times. Rescheduling this event will allow us to deliver the TradeTech Europe 2020 experience that you are accustomed to, in a safe environment.

We recognise that you likely have several questions, the first being, “What are the new dates?” We apologise for not being able to communicate new specific dates at this time, but are pushing hard for a response and workable options from the event venue. As soon as we have confirmed dates over the next few days we will immediately let you know.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We recognise all of the incredibly hard work our speakers, advisors and sponsors have already put in to the program and we appreciate your continued support and willingness to work with us as we navigate this unexpected challenge. If there is one thing the business services industry is known for, it’s how to adapt to difficult circumstances, and we have been humbled by the support that we have already received.

In order to make this process as painless as we can, we will move delegate tickets and sponsorships to the new dates when we have them. As the program will remain intact, all the terms of original delegate ticket and event sponsorships will still be applicable.

ISDA

In an effort to keep our members informed of ISDA’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like to make you aware of an important decision we have taken regarding the Annual General Meeting (AGM). After deliberations with the ISDA Board of Directors over how best to ensure the health and safety of our membership and employees, we have decided to reschedule the AGM from May 5-7, 2020 to November 3-5, 2020 in Madrid.

Given the value we place on engagement with our membership, we are pleased that we are able to find a new date to hold this important event in 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and will adapt conference policies and procedures as necessary as public health advice changes.

For more than three decades, ISDA has hosted an AGM to discuss and share ideas, debate policy and present market solutions essential to making the global derivatives market both safe and efficient. Our annual meeting is the best opportunity to engage with our 930+ member firms, and to bring the industry together to discuss these mission-critical issues. We believe postponement is the best possible outcome that will both keep attendees safe, and ensure we can deliver what is an extremely important and exciting event for the global derivatives industry.

If you are currently registered as an attendee:
Your registration will be automatically rolled over to the new date – you do not need to take any action. Those delegates who would prefer a full refund should contact the ISDA conferences team at Conferences@isda.org. If you are an exhibitor or sponsor, we will contact you separately with more details.

Hotel reservations:
Please remember to change your travel plans as necessary. If you have booked a room as part of the ISDA room block at the Hotel Riu Plaza España, there is no need to contact the hotel – all rooms have been released for the May dates. More information on booking rooms for November is available here.

We sincerely hope you will join us in November in Madrid for an outstanding AGM.
