NYFW: Day 5

02.11.2014

On Monday at NYFW, we saw runway shows from the likes of Rosie Assoulin, Alice + Olivia, Novis, Honor, Reem Acra, Donna Karan, Zac Posen, Barbara Tfank, Yeohlee, Zero + Maria Cornejo, The Row, Thom Browne, Kenneth Cole Collection, Milly, Ohne Titel, Karen Walker, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Dennis Basso, Theory, Tommy Hilfiger and Carolina Herrera. Highlights from the runways include Theory, whose Fall 2014 RTW collection included uneven hemlines and oversized coats, along with reinforcing the idea that florals are acceptable for Fall.

Tommy Hilfiger created a winter wonderland set, with flannel pattern blocked dresses, fair isle knits, oversized coats featuring big pockets, and showing a playful take on the ski-bunny look. Stacey Bendet gave Alice + Olivia’s Fall RTW collection an enchanted, fairy-tale edge, featuring jewel-toned fabrics, long dresses with frayed hem lines and sleeves with ruffled-edges that look like the high-fashion female version of Prince Charming himself, along with fur, floral prints, and playful skirts. Phillip Lim featured a fall-favorite –lace up boots– as well as shearling coats and mid-calf skirts, while Carolina Herrera shows off jewel toned colors with architectural designs.
