Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), in partnership with Franklin Templeton, has launched the Franklin Templeton Qatar Equity Fund, an actively managed investment strategy focused on companies listed on Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

Launching with QAR 725 million in assets under management and anchored by QIA, the fund represents the continued execution of a broader strategic initiative designed to strengthen Qatar’s investment ecosystem by bringing leading global asset managers into the local market.

Together with earlier initiatives under this program, total capital deployed now exceeds QAR 2 Billion, reflecting a deliberate and sustained approach to developing a more globally integrated and resilient market ecosystem.

Key objectives include:

•  Enhancing market liquidity and depth
• Expanding institutional participation
• Increasing international investor engagement
• Supporting the long-term evolution of Qatar’s capital markets infrastructure

As capital markets increasingly become central to economic diversification, initiatives like these reinforce Qatar’s position as a dynamic regional financial hub aligned with long-term growth ambitions.
