Casey Kenny, Assistant Vice President, U.S. Treasuries at Tradeweb, won Excellence in Strategic Client Engagement at Markets Media Group’s 2025 U.S. Women in Finance Awards.
What was your reaction to winning the award?
Winning the Markets Media “Rising Star” award was both humbling and energizing. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the hard work, long hours, and collaboration that go into this industry recognized by peers I deeply respect. I’m especially proud to represent the Tradeweb team, where innovation and teamwork drive everything we do. This award isn’t just a personal milestone; rather, it’s a reflection of the mentors, colleagues, and leaders who have invested in my growth. It also reinforces my motivation to keep pushing boundaries, contribute meaningfully to market evolution, and open doors for the next generation of women pursuing careers in finance and technology.
What skills or qualities do you think have been key to your rapid progression in finance?
Curiosity, adaptability, and collaboration have been central to my progression. The markets are constantly evolving, and staying curious helps me anticipate change rather than react to it. I’ve learned to adapt quickly, whether tackling new trading protocols, managing client relationships, or navigating complex product challenges. Collaboration has also been key, as success in this space is rarely individual. Working closely with our technology, sales teams, and other product teams at Tradeweb has taught me the value of cross-functional problem-solving and open communication. Combined with resilience and a commitment to continuous learning, these qualities have helped me grow quickly while staying grounded in a sense of purpose and teamwork.
How do you approach challenges in a high-pressure or fast-paced environment, and what’s your strategy for overcoming them?
In a fast-paced trading environment, I’ve learned that composure and structure are everything. When challenges arise, whether it’s a market-moving event or a complex client issue, I focus first on staying calm and assessing the situation clearly. I break problems down quickly, prioritize the highest-impact actions, and lean on cross-functional teamwork to implement solutions efficiently. I also try to view pressure as a chance to grow. Some of my best learning moments have come from situations that pushed me out of my comfort zone. Each situation reinforces the value of preparation, communication, trust in your team, and adaptability… all qualities that not only help resolve challenges but drive growth in a dynamic, evolving market.
Outside of work, what inspires or energizes you?
Outside of work, I’m driven by community, endurance, and purpose. Running marathons has taught me the discipline and mental resilience that mirror life in the markets: consistent effort over time yields results. Training for races, especially in support of organizations like Fred’s Team and the Boomer Esiason Foundation, keeps me grounded and reminds me how powerful collective impact can be. I’m also inspired by mentorship, travel, family, and time spent with people who challenge me to think differently. Whether it’s crossing a finish line or contributing to a cause bigger than myself, I find energy in moments that combine challenge, connection, and meaning.
