Kristen (Krissy) Lawler, Liquidity Management and Global Products, XTX Markets, won Rising Star at Markets Media Group’s 2023 Women in Finance (U.S.) Awards.

What was your reaction to winning the award?

I was completely honored to be recognized alongside so many stellar candidates and women in finance.

Please tell us about your current role and daily responsibilities.

XTX Markets is a global multi-asset electronic liquidity provider. As such, we provide liquidity on exchange as well as directly to end clients. My role is to maximise the value of those client trading relationships. I must understand and communicate XTX’s value proposition to expand existing and new relationships for the firm. I regularly discuss market structure and microstructure with clients, vendors, tech providers and regulators to help drive forward projects expanding XTX’s universe of product offerings. Currently, I’m most focused on growing our US equity offering via our Single Dealer Platform (SDP).

What is your favorite workplace tradition?

Although it may seem unremarkable, my favorite workplace tradition is that our office eats lunch together just about every day. It’s true that having a smaller headcount helps make this more feasible, but we could just as easily use our lunch time to work or call home instead! This time is our own, yet consistently our entire team spends it together. I think this not only has a positive impact on the culture in the office, but ultimately exemplifies it.
