CHICAGO, July 16, 2012 – Spot Trading LLC, a leading proprietary equity options trading firm, announced that the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) has again named the firm one of “Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work ForTM.” This is the second consecutive year that NABR has recognized Spot as a company that delivers exceptional human resources practices and appreciates employees as its greatest asset.

The selection of the 2012 winning companies is based on analysis from an independent research firm that evaluates each company’s competency in areas including communication and shared vision; community initiatives; compensation, benefits and employee solutions; diversity and inclusion; employee education and development; employee enrichment, engagement and retention; employee achievement and recognition; recruitment, selection and orientation; strategic company performance, and work-life balance. The 101 companies selected represent the most innovative human resource programs to date, according to NABR.

Rob Merrilees, Spot Trading founder and CEO, said: “We are especially proud to achieve this great honor against a landscape of a challenging market environment and heightened scrutiny of those in financial services. We couldn’t be more proud of our team, which we consider second to none, and we are committed to maintaining the positive and collaborative environment that has been the linchpin of our success.”

Merrilees said Spot’s newest employees join the firm today to begin the Spot Training Program, which emphasizes the team culture that sets the firm apart from others in the industry. Spot’s unique trading style is based on the integration and collaboration of a variety of disciplines, involving traders, research analysts, technologists, financial engineers and various support teams.

Jennifer Kluge, NABR President, said: “The selection, recognition and awarding of Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For allows businesses to showcase their best practices and demonstrate why each of them would be an ideal place for employees to work. This year’s winning companies represent high standards and are an example for other companies to emulate.”

The National Association for Business Resources (NABR) advocates and represents small and medium-sized businesses throughout the United States. NABR (www.nationalbiz.org) specializes in providing businesses the benefits, programs, services and assistance required to operate as efficiently and successfully as possible.
