STA to Give Mehmet Kinak 2025 Dictum Meum Pactum Award

STA is pleased to announce Mehmet Kinak, Global Head of Equity Trading at T. Rowe Price, is the 2025 recipient of our Dictum Meum Pactum Award!

The Dictum Meum Pactum (DMP) Award recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the betterment of the financial services industry and have exhibited acts of integrity at the highest level, consistent with the ideal that STA has supported since its inception: dictum meum pactum (“my word is my bond”).

Mr. Kinak has been a trusted subject matter expert and highly-respected leader throughout his more than 20 years of involvement in financial services. He is Co-Chair of the New York Stock Exchange’s Institutional Traders Advisory Committee, serves on the Institutional Traders Advisory Committees of CBOE Global Markets, IEX Group, and Nasdaq, and Chairs the Investment Company Institute’s (ICI) Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee.

Mr. Kinak is also a supporter of STA at the National and local Affiliate levels through his willingness to serve on industry panel discussions.

The 2025 DMP Award will be presented to Mr. Kinak at STA’s 92nd Annual Market Structure Conference in Washington DC, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Mehmet Kinak is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. and Head of Global Equity Trading. In this role, Mr. Kinak oversees T. Rowe Price’s trading desks globally, leading efforts to improve the firm’s trade execution strategy. He works closely with brokers, exchanges, regulators, and policy makers around the world to evaluate market structure and regulatory developments. Prior to assuming this expanded role in 2021, Mr. Kinak was responsible for algorithmic trading and market structure advocacy in equities.

Mr. Kinak is a frequent contributor at forums surrounding U.S. equity markets. He is Co-Chair of the New York Stock Exchange’s Institutional Traders Advisory Committee, serves on the Institutional Traders Advisory Committees of CBOE Global Markets, IEX Group, and Nasdaq and Chairs the Investment Company Institute’s (ICI) Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee. He previously served as a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee. He is a board member of the National Organization of Investment Professionals (NOIP) and a member of Virginia Tech’s Finance Advisory Board.

Mr. Kinak joined the firm in 2000 and has worked as a portfolio accounting associate, investment liaison, portfolio implementation manager, an electronic trader, and Head of Systematic Trading. He earned a B.S. in finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
