The NFL season’s biggest game has just ended, and while you may not want a beer so soon after, why not plan ahead and check out this week’s beer tastings in Boston, Chicago, New York? Foresight never looked so good.

2/7, Tuesday: Sel De La Terre Beer & Food Event. Four courses. Four beers. $44. Resident beer expert Seth Mandeville takes you through seasons, regions (this week, it’s European beers), and breweries and shows you what food goes with what. 2/8, Wednesday: Cape Ann Brewing Co. Beer Social. This Gloucester brewer brings five of its beers to The Lower Depths’ taps. Interesting brews to check out: the Chili Stout, brewed with jalapeños and habañeros; the 70 Shilling Scottish Ale, full of peaty flavors. 2/10, Friday: Blue Hills Brewery Tasting in Kenmore Square. Hailing from Canton, MA, this brewer offers a few of its beers in front of Wine Gallery (by Kenmore Station) for before or after you hop on the train. 2/6, Monday: Founders’ All Day IPA at Binny’s. To cheer on Founders Brewery’s newest IPA, Binny’s Beverage Depot in South Loop is hosting a celebration, putting two of Founders’ other brews on tap, too. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 1132 S. Jefferson Street | 312-768-4400

2/7, Tuesday: Mardi Gras Abita Beer Dinner at Heaven on Seven, Naperville. Responsibility alert: get a designated driver to take you to nearby Naperville. At $50 per person, however, this reservations-only dinner is one of the best deals on this list: chow down on New Orleans-style fare (courtesy of legendary Chicago chef Jimmy Bannos, Sr.) paired with eight brews from Louisiana brewer Abita. 2/7, Tuesday: Lagunitas Tuesday Night Tasting at Bierkraft. Visit Park Slope’s chilled out 5th Avenue and check out some beers from Lagunitas brewery. While you’re at it, pick up a growler of one of their delicious brews to take home…and definitely sample the roast beef sandwich, freshly made, locally sourced, and one of the best we’ve had in either Manhattan or Brooklyn. 2/8, Wednesday: Beer & Bourbon Tasting at Idle Hands Bar. This Lower East Side hangout is featuring a tasting and lesson on how to drink. 2/9, Thursday: Five Course Mardi Gras Beer Pairing at Manchester Pub. Reserve ahead of time to get your seats for this beer event featuring Abita Beers. In celebration of Mardi Gras, the Louisiana brewery is pairing its brews with some down-south New Orleans fare…and with five courses and six beers for $50 per person, this deal is not to be missed.
