TRADING UP: Tabb to Bloomberg; DB Creates ESG Group
Larry Tabb, Founder and CEO of market-structure consultancy Tabb Group, has joined Bloomberg after closing his eponymous firm in March.

White-glove brokerage Deutsche Bank has announced a new group and several new hires.
Given the increased focus on Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) matters from the firm’s investment bank clients, a dedicated Sustainable Finance team has been formed within Capital Markets as part of Deutsche Bank’s broader strategy to offer ESG products and solutions to all client groups.
Operating within the existing Capital Solutions & Sustainable Financing (CS&SF) group led by Boris Kopp, the new team will partner closely with a network of regional and sectoral ‘ESG champions’ to be announced in due course, while aligning with other IB and bank-wide initiatives to ensure a consistent messaging and approach.
Trisha Taneja heads the new group and joined from Sustainalytics as Head of Sustainable Finance. The team mandate is be a valuable resource available to clients and global coverage teams to better understand the impact of ESG on market access and business development.
“Being able to offer global clients further ESG product expertise, regulatory guidance and investor perspectives will be key a differentiator, opening the door to broader strategic dialogue and ensuring Deutsche Bank is viewed as market leader on this important subject,” said Henrik Johnsson, Global Co-Head of Capital markets and Co-Head of Investment Bank, EMEA, and Frazer Ross, Head of DCM syndicate, EMEA.
Rounding out the team will be:
Federica Calvetti. She will spearhead and have responsibility for ESG DCM dialogue, while retaining her current DCM coverage responsibilities, for which she will continue to report to Mark Lewellen.
Henrike Pfannenberg. She will continue and expand on the role she has been doing previously within the ICG group, specifically focused on how investors drive the ESG topic.
Tamara Atanasova and Kevin Laubach will remain within Capital Solutions while continuing to cover ESG dialogue with clients subject to financial regulation.
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has seen some senior level changes.
Stephanie Lau, currently Senior Vice President, Listed Issuer Regulation, has been appointed Managing Director, Co-Head of IPO Vetting. Together with Lin Shi, Ms Lau will have oversight of all HKEX issuer listing applications. Lau qualified as a lawyer in Hong Kong, as well as in England and Wales, and has 20 years of experience in corporate finance and listing related matters. She will report to Bonnie Y Chan, Head of Listing.
In addition, Katherine Ng, Managing Director, Listing, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, Listing. In her new role, she will continue to lead Listing’s Policy and Secretariat Services department, and will report to Bonnie Chan, Head of Listing. Grace Hui, currently Chief Operating Officer, Listing, will move to HKEX’s Markets Division to take on a new role, as Managing Director, Head of Green and Sustainable Finance. She will explore the creation of commercial propositions to facilitate sustainable financing for environmentally-aligned organisations. Hui will report to Wilfred Yiu, Head of Markets.

In the U.S., David DeVito, CMT, has joined Resonant Capital Advisors as Director of Investment Operations / Financial Consultant. DeVito, a 23 veteran of the capital markets, remains in the Madison, Wisconsin area after serving as Head Multi Asset Trader at the State of Wisconsin Investment Board for the last two years. Prior to that, he served as Director of Trading at Madison Investments for over 11 years. He began his career in 1997 as a buy-side equity trader at Brown Brothers Harriman in New York City.
DeVito told Traders Magazine he was pleased with his new move to Resonant and that “all was well.” He added that looked forward to contributing to Traders and have the opportunity to tell Resonant’s story.
