WisdomTree Breaks $50bn AUM Barrier in Europe

WisdomTree, a global financial innovator, announced that its European ETF[3] and ETP range has surpassed $50 billion in assets under management, marking a major milestone in its growth trajectory. The achievement underscores the strength of WisdomTree’s UCITS platform, its leadership in gold and commodities, and its position as a first mover in crypto ETPs. Globally, WisdomTree manages over $140bn, across asset classes, on behalf of investors.

This milestone comes less than a year after WisdomTree celebrated its 10th anniversary in Europe in October 2024, marking a decade in which the firm has evolved from a pioneering ETF entrant into one of the region’s most established and innovative issuers.

Alexis Marinof, CEO, Europe, WisdomTree, commented: “Crossing the $50 billion mark is a powerful validation of our strategy and long-term commitment to the European ETF market. Many new entrants struggle to achieve the scale required to remain viable in this highly competitive space. Our ability to build meaningful scale reflects not only the trust of our investors but also the depth of our research-driven approach and our track record in delivering genuinely innovative products that add value to investors’ portfolios.”

WisdomTree’s European growth has been underpinned by more than $6 billion of net inflows year-to-date[4], reflecting broad investor engagement across its expanding suite of ETPs. Momentum has been driven by strong demand for the WisdomTree Europe Defence UCITS ETF (WDEF), which now has over $4 billion in assets and is one of the most successful European ETF launches of 2025. In addition, WisdomTree has experienced consistent asset growth across its UCITS platform, which spans equities, commodities, and fixed income, now standing at $12 billion in assets.

The firm continues to hold a leadership position in gold and commodity ETPs, with a range now exceeding $30 billion in assets. WisdomTree was also the first established asset manager to launch physically backed crypto ETPs, leveraging its heritage in physically backed gold exposures.

Marinof added: “Our first decade in Europe established WisdomTree as a research-driven ETF issuer with the scale and credibility to compete among the industry’s leaders. As we enter our next chapter, our focus remains on expanding our capabilities and delivering innovative, high-conviction exposures that meet the evolving needs of investors across the region.”

This milestone reinforces WisdomTree’s position as one of the most diversified and forward-looking ETF issuers in Europe, combining scale, innovation, and insight to deliver long-term value for investors.

Since launching in Europe, WisdomTree has built a strong local footprint, establishing offices in London, Dublin, Milan, Munich and most recently Paris. The firm also has dedicated sales teams in Spain and the Nordics, reinforcing its long-term commitment to providing investors across the region with on-the-ground expertise and local market support.
