2015 Outlook: Guy Warren, ITRS

What were the major themes of your business in 2014?

For us, 2014 saw a big focus on our core offering. We’ve invested in strengthening Geneos – our flagship application monitoring product for real-time visibility of financial technology. In February, we launched our analytic framework for data integrity, Geneos Market Data Monitor. Then later in the year, we added advanced monitoring capabilities to Bloomberg’s Real-Time Market Data Feed, B-PIPE, and integrated InXite’s Notify to extend Geneos’ alerting capabilities.

As well as technical developments, we’ve seen significant company growth. Since I started with ITRS in July, we’ve opened a new office in Singapore and laid the groundwork for a new R&D centre in Malaga.

Looking into the ITRS crystal ball, it’s going to be a pretty exciting 2015 too. Over the past year we’ve been building an entire new product offering – very different but also complementary to Geneos. We will be launching in 2015, so another major theme of 2014 has been putting the pieces into place for that.

What are your expectations for 2015?

We expect 2015 to be the year where the industry really focuses on real time analytics. Of course, it’s been talked about for a while now, but we think this will be the year it takes centre stage as a dominant theme – a view endorsed by Gartner as well. The new Reg SCI requirements will be in full swing so monitoring at trading venues will be more important than ever before.

For ITRS, we expect Geneos to continue to go from strength to strength in the application monitoring space, and for our new product to gather some attention and momentum in the analytics space as well.
