TRADING UP: Sklar to LGIM, Belbachir to Citi

Brenda Sklar, LGIM

Brenda Sklar has been appointed as Global Chief Operating Officer for Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM). Sklar brings more than 20 years of asset management experience in senior operations roles including most recently Head of Global Client Services and Global COO of Business Operations at BlackRock urring her near 24 year run with the mega asset manager. She will be based out of Chicago and will report directly to Michelle Scrimgeour, CEO.

In anticipation of joining LGIM, Sklar said: “I am excited to be joining LGIM at this critical point as we help our clients through these unprecedented times. This role gives me the opportunity to leverage my experience in driving transformation, improving the client experience, delivering operational excellence and shaping great teams. Citi just announced that Fater Belbachir will be joining the firm August to lead the Global Equities Group, which will be composed of Equity Cash, Equity Derivatives, Prime Finance/Delta One and the Multi Asset Group. Fater was most recently the Global Head of Equities and Cross Asset structuring at Barclays. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at JP Morgan in various Equities Trading leadership roles including Global Head of Equity Derivatives Trading and Structuring.

Solebury Capital, a Northeast U.S. equity capital markets advisor landed Managing Director John Haynor as Head of Structured Equity. In this capacity, Haynor will lead the firm’s strategic initiative to provide Structured Equity solutions, including convertibles, call spread overlays, ATMs, rights offerings and SPACs.

“With the current business disruption and the need to strengthen balance sheets, issuers are looking across a variety of market options for efficient access to capital and low cost financing,” added Ted Hatfield, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Solebury Capital. “Haynor has a unique background that bridges the theoretical and technical components of structured equity and derivative securities with the reality of executing these offerings in the public and private markets. His ability to decode and translate this confusing and sometimes intimidating set of alternative strategies is a real asset for our clients.”

Haynor joined Solebury last year after a career at UBS and Jefferies where he was a Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets and led the execution of convertible, derivative, and structured equity transactions across a number of sectors. Over the course of his career, he led the structuring and execution of IPOs, follow-on offerings, block trades, equity-linked offerings, SPAC capital raising and advisory, share repurchase strategies, 144A equity offerings and corporate derivative transactions across sectors. Haynor has executed over 200 bookrun offerings for companies in the healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology and other sectors.
