DBS’ Tan Su Shan: Leadership is About Empowering Others

Tan Su Shan of DBS accepted the award for CEO of the Year at the Markets Media Women in Finance Asia Awards in Singapore on May 21.

“I am very honoured to be the first female CEO for DBS,” she said. “But really, beyond commercial success, being a leader is really about empowering other people to reach their achievements.”

She added: “Let’s always put the human in the centre of everything we do. Let’s not forget, we need to be an AI-enabled company with a heart.”

Markets Media is also gearing up for the European Women in Finance Awards, taking place in London on October 8, as well as the flagship Women in Finance Awards in New York this November. Nominations are now open for both awards.
