  • The New York Stock Exchange marks a quarter-century since the 9/11 attacks with a day of remembrance.
    • The annual moment of silence will occur on the trading floor at 9:20 AM ET to honor those who lost their lives in the attacks.
    • Today’s Opening Bell will spotlight the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.
  • Former NYSE Chairman + CEO Dick Grasso will join NYSE Live to discuss the closing and reopening of the Exchange after 9/11.
    • Grasso will also share his insights on how capital markets have evolved over the past 25 years.
    • Former CNBC Sr. Markets Correspondent Bob Pisani, former Goldman Sachs partner Abby Joseph Cohen, and StoneX Sr. Advisor Jon Hilsenrath will also join programming.
  • The NYSE welcomes 9/11 Day, founder and organizer of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.
    • Intercontinental Exchange is a named sponsor of the 9/11 Day of Service initiative.
    • Employees are expected to volunteer across New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and Jacksonville.

Nasdaq said: “The @FDNYFoundation and members of the Fire Department of the City of New York (@FDNY), who served with extraordinary courage on that day and in the months that followed, will ring the @NasdaqExchange opening bell in solemn tribute to the lives lost.

Nasdaq and the FDNY will also observe moments of silence at 9:11 a.m. ET outside in the Times Square triangle and again at 9:20 a.m. ET in studio to honor the victims, their families, and survivors. The names of the victims will scroll on the Nasdaq Tower from 9:00–9:20 a.m. ET.”

MIAX Exchange Group: Moments Of Silence September 11

Please be advised that the MIAX exchanges will observe one minute of silence at both 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m. ET on Friday, September 11, 2026 to honor 9/11 victims, survivors, and their families.

Additionally, the MIAX Sapphire Trading Floor will host first responders and family members of 9/11 victims for a ceremonial bell ringing to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attack.

While trading will not be impacted, we encourage our members and participants to join us in this silent tribute.
