The NYSE’s approach to tokenized securities represents an important step toward bringing blockchain-based infrastructure into mainstream financial markets. As a pioneer in tokenization and regulated digital asset infrastructure, tZERO brings deep experience in supporting the issuance, ownership and transfer of tokenized securities – including the digital transfer agent regulated layer and proprietary technology. Pending regulatory approval, the platform will power a new NYSE-affiliated venue for trading tokenized securities. That includes both third-party custodial tokens and issuer sponsored tokenized securities. Both types are fungible with traditionally issued securities, so people who hold tokenized shares will get the same dividends and governance rights as other shareholders. The venue is built around established market structure principles, with distribution via non-discriminatory access to all participating broker-dealers.For more than two centuries, the NYSE has reshaped how markets operate, and as part of ICE, which has been at the forefront of market innovation for more than 25 years, it continues to lead the industry in the development of on-chain infrastructure for trading, settlement, custody, and capital formation.
