06.29.2018

Patricia Koetzner, Managing Director of Capital Markets, Head of Equity Sales and Trading at women-and-minority-owned Siebert Cisneros Shank & Co LLC will join a short list of women, who have successfully led the Association as president, when she is elected to the board of the Security Traders Association of New York (STANY).

“I am honored to be chosen to serve as the 2018-2019 President of STANY and I look forward to working from day one to increase our membership, engage with our partners both in the private and public sectors, and serve as a strong advocate for our industry and its professionals,” said Ms. Koetzner. “The Board is planning several new, exciting initiatives that I am looking forward to helping lead and we will be looking to our members and the community for its support. For my President’s Choice Charity, I have selected the Foundation for Women Warriors (FWW), an organization that supports women veterans. It is part of my overall goal of supporting women on many fronts this year. I can’t wait to begin my work on behalf of STANY and I know we will accomplish great things together.”

New officers, directors, and consultants will be introduced to the membership at the Association’s 83rd Annual Meeting and Wall Street Bootleggers’ Tasting on July 10, 2018 at the OTC Markets. John Graf, Senior Managing Director, Global Trading and Market Services, Nasdaq, Leucio Iacobelli, Director Institutional and Broker Dealer Sales, INTL FCStone Financial, Jeff Mendl, Business Development Manager, Delaware Board of Trade and Jessica Theisen, Vice President, Two Sigma Investments will all begin terms on the Board starting on August 1, 2018.

At under 30 years of age, Jeff Mendl will be one of the youngest board participants in the Association’s history and Jessica Theisen will bring a young buy-side voice to the Board. Their addition to the board is the result of a several-year-old Emerging Leaders initiative instituted to attract the next generation of industry leaders. Through the introduction of Student Memberships and U30 Memberships in 2018, the Association is poised to further assist, as well as learn from, a new generation of securities professional.

Ted Bragg and John Graf will be joining STANY from Nasdaq, which will now round out representation from the three largest US exchange operators for STANY. Ted Bragg will chair STANY’s newly formed Fixed Income Committee. BNY Mellon’s Pershing’s Barry Hickman, Past President of STANY, will support the new initiative as Board Liaison to the committee. Mr. Hickman notes, “we are very excited to work with Ted Bragg and his committee to expand STANY’s footprint in the fixed income community and represent their needs and interests in a larger way.” John Graf will join the STANY board as a director. John will bring his nearly 20 years of experience on the front lines of trading technology and will assist in STANY’s efforts to broaden its scope and discussion of topics that will engage and attract the newest generation of securities professionals and STANY members.
