Spring Break: How to Travel in Style

03.19.2014

The day everyone in New York has been waiting for since the first day of Winter is here. What day is that? The last day of Winter. Although the Spring season is heading our way tomorrow, that doesn’t mean the cold weather will suddenly dissipate, and many of us are looking to escape the cold and head somewhere tropical for Spring Break. Vacations are one of the best ways to destress, however the airports are anything but relaxing. As many of us dread sitting on the crowded planes, we throw on our most comfortable, bland ensemble and doze off for the duration of the flight. We know that flying isn’t exactly luxurious, but that’s no excuse to throw on the same leggings or oversized college sports-team sweatshirt we had on when we rolled out of bed this morning. Just because we may not be excited to travel in such close quarters for a few hours doesn’t mean our outfits should suffer. It’s true that when we dress well, we feel better about ourselves. The same applies to traveling. Here’s some of our favorite tips to help you travel in style, and make your flight more enjoyable.

Sunglasses are an essential addition to any outfit to help shield our eyes when we land, and cover up any dark circles we may acquire due to sleeping. Men, a nice watch is an essential to an airplane outfit, as well as noise cancelling headphones. Women, a comfortable bracelet and scarf can help add a nice touch to your travel style. For both men and women, a pair of shoes that are easy to slip on and off, as well as an undershirt are important as you go through security, and provide added comfort for the flight when it’s hard to find the perfect temperature to keep you comfortable. A light jacket is great to add so you can stay warm in the cold weather, and easily carry it once you land.
